Congratulations to Brian Felder, winner of the Nichola Parker Coe Volunteer Award! Thank you, Brian, for your many years of service to HSF and for all you do for the Savannah community.
In 2012, Brian founded Felder & Associates. The firm is renowned for its exceptional work in commercial, residential, historic preservation, and worship buildings and is behind many of our city’s most recognizable projects, which include The Grey Restaurant, The Bouhan Falligant Building, and the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, among others.
Brian and his team also designed the Murray C. Perlman & Wayne C. Spear Preservation Center attached to the Historic Kennedy Pharmacy on the HSF campus on Columbia Square. He worked alongside Brooks Construction to restore the Kennedy Pharmacy on Broughton Street. They also worked together on the Urban Enslaved Exhibit in the basement of Davenport House Museum – a property of Historic Savannah Foundation.
Two years ago, work began on the other side of Columbia Square when Brian stepped in to help manage the interior and exterior restoration of the Sheftall Building – HSF’s headquarters. Currently, he is again assisting HSF with the management of the very first full exterior restoration of the 1820s Davenport House.
Brian’s support of HSF began when he joined the Board in 2009 and has continued for over 12 years. He has served in various roles, including Chair of the Architectural Review Committee, Board Parliamentarian, and as Revolving Fund Committee Chair for ten years. In 2015 Brian became the HSF Board Vice Chair and held that role until 2018, when he became the HSF Board Chair, which he served as until 2020. Brian’s contributions to HSF over so many years are endless.
In addition to his commitment to preservation and incredible work, Brian is a family man. He has been married to his wife, Denise, for 29 years, and is a loving father to Mary Esther, Jack, and Joseph. Brian stands out as a pillar of our community.
