Project Description

“Jumping Mullet Farms” Residence

A couple from the Pacific Northwest wanted a second home to live a true bicoastal lifestyle. The last remaining lot in the Ford Plantation on Dublin Drive was chosen to recreate a Lowcountry vernacular farmhouse-style home. The home’s orientation maximizes natural light penetration throughout, creating a bright and airy atmosphere in all rooms. Strategic placement ensures optimal views of the surrounding landscape, further enhancing the connection with nature and the relaxed yet refined aesthetic of Lowcountry living.

Working with the contours of the land, the home sits nestled within a lower area on the property. A spacious, screened-in back porch with a fireplace extends the living area outdoors, inviting relaxation and enjoyment of the fresh air. A unique addition to the property is a separate, screened-in “oyster shack” featuring an outdoor kitchen. This charming structure provides the perfect spot for al fresco dining and soaking in the magnificent water and land views. Completing the private compound is a visually congruous garage with a functional upper-floor apartment.
