Project Description
Richmond Hill United Methodist Church is a healthy, long-standing church in Richmond Hill. Over its life, the church had done 3 major additions. While the sanctuary served the size of the current congregation, the aging fellowship hall did not permit everyone to join together for meals or social programs.
The church also has a growing contemporary worship, which really needed a space more conducive to modern music and service styles. After an architect-led programming and masterplanning effort, the church arrived at a 13,500 square foot addition that provided a new contemporary worship space that doubles as a fellowship hall where almost 500 people can congregate.
We added a new welcome center and consolidated a lot of the youth ministry functions into a new teen center. The multi-use space also has a large full-service kitchen and a food pantry for community outreach. In keeping with the fellowship functions and the modern feel of the contemporary worship service, the new building addition is bright, open, modern and flexible.
