Project Description
This partial renovation project showcases the transformative power of thoughtful design and the challenge of revitalizing a historic property. The project prioritized the preservation of the home’s original charm. The all-wood family room and two charming guest rooms were meticulously maintained, ensuring the home’s unique character remained intact.
A master suite with a generous-sized bathroom was cleverly added within a U-shaped void at the back of the property. This expansion provided much-needed space while preserving the cottage’s quaint street view. On the ocean side, a brand new, modern kitchen replaced the original master bedroom. Meticulous attention to detail, including matching materials and surfaces, ensured a seamless visual flow throughout the home. The renovation extended beyond the interior. Updated landscaping creates a cohesive aesthetic that ties the modernized elements together, resulting in a home that appears to have been built this way from the start.
