Firm History
Architecture begins with a desire to express oneself. A vision, once dreamed, that is to become reality.
Clients who make an emotional connection and take ownership of their project are those who we want to work with at Felder & Associates.
Principal and lead architect Brian Felder founded the Savannah, GA. firm in 2012 with his own desire to express himself. For more than a decade, Felder & Associates has earned numerous industry and media awards for historic preservation, residential and commercial buildings, and houses of worship. This recognition was accomplished through reliable customer service, meticulous contextual research, and aspiring to authentically realize the client’s vision.
Brian and his team look for those who want architecture to bring an outward expression of themselves. The mature client who wants to build a signature home, corporate leaders who wish to offer a distinct design to a workplace, and churches designed like a single-family home for 350 people: these are just three examples of the kind of projects that enthuse and inspire us every day.
The common characteristic of these projects isn’t a style or a sector; it’s clients who know what they want and plan to stay engaged as the project develops. We listen and get to know you and understand your goal. Then we find solutions true to context that express the owner’s desires, personality, work habits or religion. All efforts are aimed at reaching the highest level of authenticity.
The firm’s work is regional to the southeast US, but its home base is in Savannah. The buildings here are very old. Renovations, as well as new buildings around them, must respect the history and the setting. As Brian puts it, “Savannah is genuine, so we have to be.”
